The EOD experts — documentary on NDR
“Today, over seventy-five years since the end of World War II, there are still untold numbers of bombs, projectiles and grenades slumbering in the ground in northern Germany. But there are people who step up to the challenge of dealing with this dangerous legacy.” Thus goes the introduction to the 30-minute documentary of NDR’s DIE NORDREPORTAGE series.
The documentary provides intriguing background facts and glimpses into the work of SCHOLLENBERGER’s experts, who were accompanied during their clean-up assignment at Dethlinger Teich, a body of water located near the town of Munster, in Germany’s Lower Saxony.
Dethlinger Teich is infamous outside of Germany as Europe’s largest toxic legacy of chemical weapons and warfare agents. This project illustrates the special challenges of clearing away the hazards posed by the relics and contamination left behind by past wars.
SOCOTEC Germany’s SCHOLLENBERGER is making Germany’s north safer over the long term — for everyone.
